Associate Head Women's Lacrosse Coach Kara PhoubandithDelaney Devers | Assistant Coach

WINCHESTER, Va. - Shenandoah University's head women's lacrosse coach, Lindsey Lutz, has announced Delaney Devers as the program's next full-time assistant coach.

Devers, a native of Westminster, Maryland, comes to Shenandoah following a playing career at Frostburg State University, where she was a four-year starter and two-year team captain for the Bobcats. Devers graduated from FSU in 2025 with a degree in recreation and parks management and a concentration in sports promotion and communication.

A defender, she helped lead FSU to four straight regular-season titles and three conference championships. She was a two-time First Team All-MEC honoree, a Second Team All-MEC selection, and was chosen to play in the 2025 IWLCA Senior All-Star Game.

Her coaching and sport industry experience includes working as a club coach with Coppermine West, marketing and media internships with the Maryland Lacrosse League and ECD Lacrosse, and serving as a social media manager and athletic department intern with Frostburg State athletics.

Devers will assist with all aspects of the program, including recruiting, practice and game planning, and student-athlete development.


Volunteer Assistant Coach Lauren MarroccoLauren Marrocco | Volunteer Assistant Coach

Returning to the women's lacrosse staff is former DI standout Lauren (Bezmen) Marrocco.

Marrocco, a Long Island, N.Y. native, came to Shenandoah after graduating from St. Francis (Pa.) University in May of 2013.

Playing as Lauren Bezmen, she appeared in 35 games during her Red Flash career and had a career-best three goals and one assist in her senior year while primarily playing defense.

She graduated Magna Cum Laude from St. Francis with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education and Special Education.

Off the field, she was named to the Dean's List and St. Francis Athletic Honor Roll all four years and was an IWLCA Academic Honor Roll honoree in 2012.

With the Hornets, she is involved in all aspects including practice planning and film coordination. She also focuses her on-field duties with the attack unit.

She and her husband, Andy, the Hornets head cross country/track & field coach, live in Frederick County.
